Come and enjoy this surprisingly shady, but rolling, route as we follow the meandering course of the Hillsborough River from Lowry Park to Temple Terrace and back. Discover some of the quiet, hidden neighborhoods that line the river, while challenging yourself to some short, invigorating climbs. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Three Coins Restaurant (a Seminole Heights icon) just before returning to our start. Meet at the Lowry Park "Bandshell" parking lot, corner of North Blvd. and Sligh Avenue. 32 miles at 12 - 16 mph, depending on the group. "Facilities" at the ride's start, midpoint and end

Total distance 20 miles. 95% of the ride will be on an excellent and well maintained bike path. Once reaching Ft. DeSoto, we will turn left and ride to the South beach. Once we reach South beach we will turn and ride to the North beach loop along vast areas of restored native plants and beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico. On the way back we will return via Ft. DeSoto, circling the historic fort and then take a side road into the Sand Point development. Once back at Downtown Tierra Verde Center we will have an authentic German breakfast at the German Crepes Restaurant.
Directions: 275 South Take exit 17 toward Pinellas Bayway – 1.1 mile Merge onto 54th Ave. S/Pinellas Bayway/SR – 682 Partial toll road (50 cents) -1.9 mile Turn left at Pinellas Bayway S/SR 679 and follow for 2.7 miles. Center will be on your right

A relaxing ramble through some of Tampa's oldest and newest neighborhoods. Departing from the Lowry Park Zoo "Bandshell" parking lot, we will tour the neighborhoods of Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights, Ybor City, Channelside and Harbor Island. We'll leisurely return through downtown Tampa, and then head north along the Hillsborough River. 18-20 miles at 10-12 mph. Susie Cooke 813 236-8119.
